40 Years of Quality Vision Testing Tools by Precision Vision
For nearly forty years Precision Vision has built a reputation of producing the most accurate and most durable vision testing tools available. Earning trust and confidence we have worked closely with some of the greatest contributors to the eye care profession creating high quality charts and other devices by combining ideas, expertise and high standards. Doctors, researchers and practitioners around the world depend on our commitment to quality.

In the 1980's we printed the first ETDRS charts and developed the first standardized viewer, The ETDRS Illuminator Cabinet™. Our cabinet and charts quickly became and remain the benchmark worldwide for studies, trials and general practice. Since our beginning we have manufactured a variety of pediatric testing tools, charts and tests for numerous purposes including low contrast, low vision, visual field, color tests and more.

The ETDRS Illuminator Cabinet™ is National Eye Institute and FDA approved and recommended. It fits all ETDRS charts as well as other high contrast, low contrast and mixed contrast charts. The ETDRS Illuminator Cabinet™ and Stand are available in Cobalt Black or Beige through our web site at www.precision-vision.com.

This retro-illuminated cabinet has a LUX of 759. Each cabinet is set up with 2 Fluorescent lamps. Each lamp comes equipped with a diffuser calibrated for this light level. Replacing the lamp is simple. Lamps calibrated to other light levels such as 85cd/m2 will be available soon. The cabinet includes ample storage in the back for quick and easy chart access. A 5-leg caster base can be obtained for mobility.

On the forefront of pediatric testing with HOTV and other symbols we introduce our newest development in the Patti Pics™ pediatric test system. With the addition of a fifth optotype the probability of guessing correct answers during tests and screenings is lowered by 20 percent. The Patti Pics™ test system was introduced in 2003 as an improved test for vision screening and testing of pediatric and adult patients where universal symbols and matching may serve the process better than letters or other symbols.

Patti Pics™ have been designed to meet acuity test standardization criteria by adhering to the Snellen principal of 1862, the recommended standard for optotype design. In addition they are the only pediatric test designed with calibration targeted to be comparable with ETDRS Sloan letter charts, referred to as the Gold Standard of acuity testing. This uniformity is especially important when taking patients from symbols to letter tests. Both are very significant factors when a child has an eye disorder or amblyopia and they advance to clinical letter charts. Patti Pics™ are therefore a modern, relevant and updated test system.
