Study Finds D-EYE Smartphone Retinal Imaging System Helpful in Aiding Exams

Ophthalmologists from the Ross Eye Institute reported the D-EYE Smartphone Retinal Imaging System was especially helpful in aiding exams in remote settings and with immobile patients during a recent presentation at the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) annual conference.

During the study, the D-EYE was reportedly used with an iPhone 6 to take retinal images of pediatric patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, on dilated and undilated eyes. The researchers stated the capture images were helpful for documentation, follow-up and discussion of complex cases.
