
Paul B. Griggs, M.D.
Dr. Paul Griggs joined the Section of Ophthalmology at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in July of 1990. He completed medical school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, which was followed by a residency
in ophthalmology at Saint Louis University. He went on to perform a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery in Lexington, Kentucky under the direction of William J. Wood, MD. Following training, he joined the Section and quickly developed a thriving medical and surgical vitreoretinal practice. Over the years, he has introduced many new techniques and procedures to the Section, primarily in the fields of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. He has participated in several clinical trials and currently maintains a close working relationship with industry leaders that are currently developing novel treatments for age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
