The Journal of Refractive Surgery, published by SLACK Incorporated, is pleased to announce it will increase its frequency to monthly, beginning January 2009. The official Journal of the International Society of Refractive Surgery of the American Academy of Ophthalmology will continue to offer peer-reviewed, scientific articles written and reviewed by internationally renowned surgeons.
With 12 issues per year, the editors can now reduce the time from manuscript review to publication, placing the Journal of Refractive Surgery at the forefront of refractive surgery literature. The increased frequency will also allow the Journal to further focus its attention toward advancements in the fast-developing area of lens-based refractive surgery.
“The Journal of Refractive Surgery is an indispensable resource for refractive surgeons worldwide including physicians, medical educators, vision scientists and students,” said George O. Waring III, MD, FACS, FRCOphth, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Refractive Surgery. “Subscribers and ISRS/AAO members will benefit greatly from these additional issues of the Journal and its exclusive online access.”
Available online before it arrives in the mail, the Journal delivers original research, review, and evaluation of refractive and corneal surgical procedures weeks in advance of the print edition. Abstracts of each article are available to everyone, while full text articles are available only to subscribers.
For more than 20 years, the Journal has delivered relevant articles to refractive surgery professionals. The new monthly publishing schedule, along with online advanced release articles at JournalofRefractiveSurgery.com, will provide readers with quicker access to important content.
