World-First Surgery Saves Boy's Eyesight

A TWO-year-old West Papuan refugee has undergone world-first surgery to correct a rare eye abnormality and save his sight. Julian Inarkombu had a rare congenital eye abnormality - cryptophtalmos - in which eyelids fail to form properly and skin fuses to the eyeball.
