Eye and vision research nonprofit Fight for Sight is currently accepting grant proposals for its 2017 Research Awards Program until November 15, 2016.
There are three types of grants available through the organization. The Post-Doctoral Awards are given to those with a doctorate — PhD, MD, OD, Dr.PH or DVM — who are interested in academic careers in basic or clinical research in ophthalmology, vision or related sciences. Applications are considered from individuals who are within three years of their doctorate degree or clinical residency training, who have not received a previous Fight for Sight fellowship award.
The Grants-in-Aid are for funding pilot projects that general preliminary results for investigators who have limited or no other research funding. And the Summer Student Fellowships are for undergraduate, graduate and medical students who wish to pursue eye-related clinical or basic research.
