OWL NOW ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2016 OWL AWARDS
Awards To Recognize Members Who Are Advancing Diversity in Leadership
Kansas City, MO – July 7, 2016 – OWL, a national, not-for- profit organization dedicated to driving ophthalmic innovation and patient care by advancing diversity in leadership, today announced that it is now accepting nominations for the 2016 OWL Awards. The OWL Awards include the Visionary Award, Catalyst Award, and Rising Star Award.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, July 18th.
Visionary Award
OWL’s Visionary Award honors an individual who has paved the way for diversity in their field through significant achievement. Nominees must demonstrate leadership in their field throughout their careers.
Catalyst Award
OWL’s Catalyst Award honors an individual who has contributed significantly to helping others advance their career in eye care. Nominees must demonstrate leadership in supporting the advancement of diversity through the mentoring or sponsorship of promising individuals, diversity advocacy, or creating a culture of equality.
Rising Star Award
OWL’s Rising Star Award honors an individual who is an emerging leader in the ophthalmic space. Nominees must be in their early or mid-careers and demonstrate high potential for making an impact in ophthalmology.
Award winners will be recognized at OWL’s Signature Event on Sunday, October 16th during the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting.
