 Wayne State Researchers Reveal New Considerations for Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy

Researchers from Wayne State University have unlocked some new understandings of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) by studying the cornea.

According to the research team, they were able to make novel observations through the use of Streptozotocin-induced type I diabetes and cornea epithelial wounding experimental models that they expect will soon lead to new therapies to treat DPN and ulcerations of the cornea and skin in diabetic patients.
