Prevent Blindness
Earlier this week, volunteer eye health and safety organization Prevent Blindness released a number of news items including new partnerships and information on women's eye health.
Firstly, Prevent Blindness has designated April as Women's Eye Health and Safety Awareness Month in an effort to educate women about their higher risk for vision loss. Part of their efforts include "See Jane See: Women's Healthy Eyes Now" -- a Web-based educational campaign dedicated to women's vision health that includes free information and downloadable tip sheets, as well as information on the importance of routine care.
In related news, Prevent Blindness announced a partnership with eye and skin care company OCuSOFT Inc. where 10 percent of its gross monthly online sales from Ocusoft.com would be donated to Prevent Blindness during Women's Eye Health and Safety Awareness Month to help support the "See Jane See: Women's Healthy Eyes Now" campaign.
Also this week Prevent Blindness announced a new alliance with Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation to offer holistic support for people living with retinal vein occlusion, macular disease and uveitis. The alliance will enable the organizations to leverage the PAN Foundation's eye health financial assistance programs and patient resources of Prevent Blindness to ensure patients have access to the services and support they need to best manage their disease.
