 IOPtima Introduces Laser-Assisted Blepharoplasty Kit

IOPtima Ltd. recently introduced its new iLid™ CO2 laser kit to enable oculoplastic surgeons to perform safe, effective CO2 laser-assisted blepharoplasty.

Instead of a manual surgical scalpel, surgeons using the iLid CO2 laser kit reportedly employ a CO2 laser beam with adjustable levels of penetration to incise the upper and lower eyelids and remove excess fat. The CO2 laser beam also reportedly carefully vaporizes the top layer of the skin, restoring its surface and finely smoothing the lid. Additionally, laser-assisted blepharoplasty surgery reportedly offers minimal bruising and discomfort, shorter recovery period, reduced procedure time, and better cosmetic results with no visible scars.

The iLid CO2 laser-assisted blepharoplasty kit is reportedly based on IOPtima’s IOPtiMate™ system for performing CLASS™ (CO2 laser-assisted sclerectomy surgery) for treatment of glaucoma. According to IOPtima, the iLid CO2 laser kit is available globally, excluding the United States.
