DigiSight Technologies recently launched its Paxos telehealth solution at 13 Banner Health facilities across Arizona for a teleophthalmology program that will allow emergency room doctors to capture images of serious eye injuries and other vision issues, and have them reviewed by a group of ophthalmologists in real time.
Paxos is reportedly a telehealth solution that allows healthcare teams to collaborate and make informed decisions at the point-of-care. Paxos technology reportedly uses a specialized adapter (FDA Class II registered) that takes pictures of the front of the eye and retina using a smartphone, and includes cloud and mobile-phone based HIPAA-compliant software to allow secure transmission of various vision and ocular tests.
