Brien Holden Vision Institute, WHO Release New Report on Myopia and High Myopia

The Brien Holden Vision Institute and World Health Organization (WHO) recently released a new report on myopia and high myopia.

"The Impact of Myopia and High Myopia" is based on results from a meeting held in Sydney, Australia in March 2015 that brought together myopia experts from all six WHO regions to discuss the growing global prevalence of myopia and high myopia. The report captures evidence presented during the meeting on the magnitude of myopia, vision impairment and blindness in myopia, terminology and classification, pathological consequences, the impact on society, etiology, risk factors, and evidence for myopia control. Additionally, the report identifies gaps in current knowledge and makes recommendations to address these gaps.
