Vitreoretinal Surgery Dyes

Vitreoretinal surgery dyes are used to help retinal surgeons differentiate between the inner limiting membrane (ILM) and epiretinal membrane (ERM) in the retina, which can be hard to see due to it being very thin and transparent. Some dyes for this purpose include trypan blue, triamcinolone acetonide, indocyanine green and infracyanine green, all of which have pros and cons.
