ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner Hits One Million Case Milestone

ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner Hits One Million Case Milestone

ZEISS continues to advance the digitalization of eye care, recently surpassing a major milestone in the U.S. with more than one million surgery cases planned with ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner. This web-based surgical planning solution enables seamless connectivity between clinics and operating rooms through configurable automation utilizing multiple datasets, saving doctors more than 50,000 hours to date within their workflows. The surgery planner, acquired by Carl Zeiss Meditec inc. in 2017, has grown to become an integral part of the ZEISS Cataract Workflow with more than 11% of all cataract procedures in the U.S. planned using ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner.

ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner makes use of data from 20 different EHR systems, ZEISS diagnostics such as ZEISS IOLMaster 700 and third-party diagnostic devices through DICOM, as well as an optional patient questionnaire sent to patients prior to their visits. The data inputs are compiled seamlessly to help surgeons work faster and to make data-informed decisions in their practices without the need for manual data entry or USB sticks, driving better patient outcomes and reduced human error. Additionally, adoption of all premium IOLs for ZEISS VERACITY Surgery Planner users has risen above the national average.
