 NIDEK Launches the NT-1/1e Non Contact Tonometer

NIDEK CO., LTD., a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic, optometric, and lens edging equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of the NT-1/1e Non Contact Tonometer models.

The NT-1p non-contact tonometer/pachymeter has been sold/evaluated in the market since being released in November 2022. As an addition to same series that includes the NT-1p, the NT-1/1e non-contact tonometers were developed without the pachymetry function to address market demand. This series of products now includes 3 innovative devices that provide the highly regarded reliability associated with NIDEK products.

The NT-1p/1 perform fully automated measurements and include an air-nozzle contact sensor to ensure patient safety. By simply placing the chin on the chinrest, the device automatically detects the position of the eyes and measurement begins without any operator assistance. Gentle voice guidance (available in 9 languages) facilitates smooth measurement. The corrected IOP values are displayed by entering the patient’s corneal pachymetry.

The NT-1e is a basic model that enables manual measurement with high operability. The 3D auto tracking function, which is a standard feature of the NT-1 series, provides quick, simple, and accurate measurements.

A common feature of the NT-1 series is the continuous range of tilt/swivel of the screen that allows the device to be placed anywhere in an examination room including, installation against a wall or in a corner. The conventional face-to-face position is available, and the devices are designed to provide excellent patient comfort. The flexible layout and space-saving design contribute to improved productivity and efficiency.
