Aberrometers / Wavefront Aberrometry

Over the past few years, eye doctors have begun to turn to wavefront aberrometry as a way to measure their patients' vision especially prior to LASIK surgery. An aberrometer uses aberrometry (aka wavefront technology) to measure how light travels through a patient's eyes. If the patient has any visual errors, this causes the light to take on different shapes that can be used to define those errors. Additionally, some visual errors may be more serious than others. This is all vital information for an ophthalmologist to determine the best course of action for vision correction.
