OCT Angiography

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Angiography, sometimes also called OCTA, provides doctors with a non-invasive, 3D view of capillary blood flow in a patient's retina and choroid. As an alternative to fluorescein angiography, OCT Angiography uses the motion of blood cells for contrast rather than a dye injection, offering increased flexibility for practitioners and alleviating potential dye leakage. While OCT Angiography was developed for imaging the retina, industry researchers are finding it may have additional uses such as corneal imaging, postoperative monitoring of corneal transplants, and glaucoma diagnosis.
