Intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is an integral part of glaucoma management and detection. The latest desktop non-contact tonometers are user-friendly, offer more safety features, and provide more reliable measurements than earlier models. Because the cornea is not physically touched by the device (unlike applanation tonometers) the risk of disease transmission is greatly reduced and patient comfort is greatly improved. The devices outlined below are a few examples of this technology.
