American Optisurgical Inc. (AOI) has purchased the Mentor phacoemulsification line from Paradigm Medical Industries. This new acquisition will allow American Optisurgical Inc. to offer a complete line of phaco units when adding the SIStem and Odyssey to their Horizon Phaco unit. Their intention is to provide exceptional customer service to existing SIStem and Odyssey users. Their flagship Horizon phaco system has a large LCD touch screen, an ultra light 40 kHz all-titanium four-crystal U/S handpiece (54 grams), an easy loading tubing cartridge, programmable footswitch, burst mode, as well as complete anterior vitrectomy and coagulation functions.
