Doheny Grand Rounds: Suprachoroidal Hemorrhage

Doheny Grand Rounds: Suprachoroidal Hemorrhage
Ali Bright, M.D.
Contributing Editor

This is another installment of our popular series of Doheny Grand Rounds presentations. This case was contributed by Dr. Ali Bright. In this summary, Dr. Bright reviews the etiology, signs and symptoms, and incidence of suprachoroidal hemorrhage (SCH), and then shows a specific patient's presentation, history and physical examination including diagnostic evaluation via A-scan, B-scan systems. Dr. Bright then discusses differential diagnosis. The clinical plan is outlined for this patient as are the anatomical considerations, risk factors and causes of SCH. The management of the varied degrees of SCH are delineated and the pre-operative decision tree is described. The video below the slideshow is referenced during the presentation. The video shows the surgical repair of the shunt and drainage of the SCH.

Again, our most sincere thanks to Dr. Bright for sharing this interesting case and review the managements of these patients.
