Opt-Align™ measures ocular alignment in about 30 to 60 seconds. It yields a variety of information, such as the existence of phorias and vertical imbalances, and even helps differentiate asthenopia symptoms from those caused by dry eye. Opt-Align test methods combined with appropriate corrective lenses can greatly reduce/eliminate patient symptoms, provide patient satisfaction, increase patient retention, patient referrals and practice building.
While intraocular lens technology continues to advance similar to the rates of computers, we have been able to meet our patients’ ever-increasing expectations. In this article, I review some of the changes that occurred in lens use in 2011.
