Dr Rao is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in LASIK surgery, small-incision cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, corneal transplantation, as well as Intacs® implantation for keratoconus. He also specializes in the management of dry eye and corneal infections. He is an active member of many professional societies and has published numerous articles and book chapters in the areas of dry eye, herpetic disease, and cataract and refractive surgery. Dr Rao heads the research division at Lakeside Eye Clinic, which focuses on new refractive technologies, dry eye treatments, novel pharmaceuticals, and ocular pharmaceutical delivery systems.
