Richard M. Awdeh, M.D.

Richard M. Awdeh, M.D. is a Fellow in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Awdeh graduated Valedictorian of his college class receiving a Bachelors of Business Administration from

the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He then proceeded to the Yale University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree and earned departmental honors on his medical school thesis. This was followed by a combined his internship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Awdeh then completed his ophthalmology residency at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina. Throughout his training, he has presented at multiple conferences and has received multiple honors and awards including the Duke University Ocular Innovation Award and the 2008 Paul Kayser International Scholar Award. Dr. Awdeh has contributed to the development of a handful of new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.

Dr. Awdeh's clinical practice encompasses medical, refractive, and non-refractive surgical diseases of the cornea, anterior segment, and lens.
