Jeffrey L. Marx M.D. is chairman of the department of ophthalmology at Lahey Clinic. A graduate of Cornell University, he earned his medical degree at SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his
ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and a vitreoretinal fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute.
Dr. Marx has been director of vitreoretinal surgery at Lahey Clinic since 1998 and was appointed chairman in 2006. He is active in many phase II and III clinical trials. He has been a consultant for Novartis, QLT, Genentech, Eyetech and Alcon. He received the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists.
