Eschenbach Optik of America has announced the New Visolux Digital XL FHD portable video magnifier, designed for low vision patients. The hand-held device features a 12” interactive touch screen with speech output, Dynamic Line Scrolling, an FHD camera, and HDMI input and output functionality. It is easy to use, provides bright LED illumination and includes a high magnification range from 2x-22x.
The touch screen lets users zoom in and out, navigate the image on the screen and select menu items with a simple touch. The unique Dynamic Line Scrolling (DLS) feature allows the user to scroll both horizontally and vertically when on the higher magnification levels without having to move the device. An FHD camera provides superior 1920x1080 image resolution and there are 14 color contrast modes to select from. In addition, images can be captured and stored on a removable 8GB SD card. The images can be viewed on the magnifier or on a computer via the USB connector.
Using the Visolux Digital XL FHD’s HDMI out port, images from the magnifier can be projected onto an external monitor. With the HDMI in port, distance objects can be viewed on the magnifier by connecting an external video camera to the device. This means the Visolux Digital XL FHD can be used to magnify both near and far objects. In summary, its unmatched connectivity options, superior image quality and unique user interface make it an excellent option as a magnification device.
