Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami Health System and University of Miami Miller School of Medicine was ranked first for the best hospitals for ophthalmology in U.S. News & World Report's annual Best Hospitals Rankings.
This is reportedly the 14th year in a row and the 16th time that Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has claimed the number one spot since the publication began surveying U.S. physicians for its annual rankings.
Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., was ranked second, while the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital was named the third best hospital for ophthalmology. Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, and Stein and Doheny Eye Institutes at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles rounded out the top five.
