Prevent Blindness recently announced Dr. Brian J. Song, at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School, as the recipient of the 2017 Joanne Angle Investigator Award for his study on glaucoma detection in diabetes teleretinal programs.
Song's research will reportedly work to establish much-needed optic disc imaging standards that will potentially be a significant contribution to enhance early detection of glaucoma and help reduce vision loss.
The Joanne Angle Investigator Award is reportedly a research grant, presented annually, to scientifically-based studies that seek to end unnecessary vision loss.
