 Modernizing Medicine Earns Top Rankings in Black Book Survey for EHR Systems, Receives $231M Investment

Specialty-specific health information technology provider Modernizing Medicine, Inc. recently earned six #1 rankings for EHR systems in the 2017 Black Book™ survey, and received a $231 million investment from Warburg Pincus that will fund further expansion and support future strategic endeavors.

Modernizing Medicine's ophthalmology-specific EHR system, modmed Ophthalmology, is reportedly one of its six products to receive a #1 ranking on the Black Book™ Physician Practice & Ambulatory Solutions top EHR lists. In addition, Modernizing Medicine also won the top spot for Single & Solo Practices - Surgical Specialties.

Over 540,000 EHR users were reportedly invited to participate in this year's Black Book survey, and all gathered data is subjected to internal and external audits to verify completeness and accuracy.

And Modernizing Medicine has received a $231 million investment from global private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Through this latest round of funding, Modernizing Medicine reportedly plans to pursue certain strategic initiatives, which may include automation of prior authorization workflows, deployment of an eCommerce platform, investment in data exchange and reconciliation.
