ZEISS recently announced it has integrated the latest generation of Barrett intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation formulas — Barrett Universal II, Barrett Toric and Barrett True-K — as one convenient suite into the IOLMaster® 700 SWEPT Source Biometry® for more accurate prediction of refractive outcomes.
The formulas integrated in the new Barrett Suite — which incorporate the influence of the posterior corneal surface — have reportedly been shown to be more accurate in predicting target refraction. According to ZEISS, the IOLMaster 700 automatically applies the newly integrated Barrett Suite formulas depending on the IOL selected and the refractive surgery status of the patient. And the combination of SWEPT Source OCT biometry with the Barrett IOL formulas can reportedly help surgeons improve refractive outcomes and reduce refractive surprises.
