LKC Technologies Receives U.S. Patents for ERG/VEP System

LKC Technologies recently received two U.S. patents related to its RETeval™ handheld visual electrodiagnostic system for ophthalmologic flash Electroretinogram (ERG) and flash Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) testing.

The first patent was granted for the RETeval's "exclusive innovative stimulus generation," and the second for its LKC Sensor Strip skin electrode arrays, which are reportedly easy to apply and well-tolerated by patients who do not tolerate corneal electrodes well.

The RETeval device reportedly uses skin or corneal electrodes on dilated or un-dilated eyes, and uses flash ERG and flicker ERG testing for diagnosing and treating patients with glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, CRVO, pediatric nystagmus, and other conditions.
