Global health organization SightLife recently announced it has raised $10 million in Series A financing from healthcare investment firm Flying L partners, which will be used to fund SightLife's new for-profit subsidiary SightLife Surgical and allow it to accelerate its mission of eliminating corneal blindness worldwide by 2040.
SightLife Surgical is reportedly a cornea-focused organization providing comprehensive services to support ophthalmic surgeons, from corneal tissue and devices to reimbursement consulting and political advocacy. SightLife will be both the parent organization and majority owner of SightLife Surgical.
This move reportedly follows SightLife's recent acquisition of Ocular Systems Inc. and its partnership with the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank.
