Ophthalmic device company New World Medical recently announced the launch of two new humanitarian initiatives to support the philanthropic endeavors of ophthalmologists, designed to support medical missions that deliver cutting-edge eye care while also promoting the transfer of surgical skills from highly trained providers to local peers.
The New World Medical Humanitarian Grant provides $50,000 in funding each year to non-profit or academic institutions providing ophthalmic care and training in developing health systems. And the New World Medical Fellowship Award offers $10,000 in travel support annually to a glaucoma fellow dedicated to making global humanitarian work an integral part of their careers.
