United Sight
November 6, 2009 (Sacramento, CA) United Sight today announced the results of their first event which was held on October 28th in San Francisco with SF Project Homeless Connect. Through the support of twelve ophthalmic organizations and the PHC volunteers they were able assist in providing 180 comprehensive eye exams, 116 pairs of prescription glasses and over 400 readers in a single day - all for free.
“We could not have asked for better results from the first United Sight event - the generosity that was shown by all of the people involved was truly inspiring and I think that we helped to make a difference today.” commented Bryan Farrell of OIS and United Sight.
Following the success of this first event, United Sight also announced today that they will be partnering with PHC for another event on December 9th in San Francisco at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Individuals and organizations interested in volunteering are encouraged to contact United Sight via their website, www.unitedsight.org or by calling 916.792.1416.
