TOKYO, Feb. 25(Kyodo) Lasik eye surgery performed at an ophthalmology clinic in Tokyo has resulted in dozens of patients developing infectious diseases, including a few serious cases, health department officials said Wednesday. Some 67 people are known to have developed keratitis or conjunctivitis after having had the popular refractive laser surgery for correcting myopia at the Ginza Ganka clinic, the officials said, attributing the occurrence of the diseases to improper sanitary management.
