FA Implant May Reduce Uveitis Recurrence, Despite Elevated IOP

Treating patients who have noninfectious posterior uveitis with an intravitreous implant that delivers fluocinolone acetonide can significantly reduce disease recurrence and improve or maintain visual acuity, a long-term study has found. However, the majority of eyes implanted with the device required cataract extraction or surgery to reduce elevated IOP.
