Scientists Win €1m Eye Prize

One of Europe's biggest medical research foundations yesterday awarded a €1m (£803,000, $1.4m) prize to two US scientists for work on how the retina translates light into nerve signals to create vision. The Lisbon-based Champalimaud Foundation gave its second annual Vision Award to Jeremy Nathans and King-Wai Yau of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland
