FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fewer intravitreal injections of ranibizumab were needed to treat patients with choroidal neovascularization secondary to age-related macular degeneration when those patients also were treated with topical bromfenac, according to a poster presentation here. "Inflammation has a salient role in membrane formation and maintenance, so that's why we targeted this with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory," Calvin A. Grant, MD, told Ocular Surgery News during his poster session at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting.
