
Eversight — a global nonprofit network of eye banks — recently announced the nine recipients of its 2016 Eye and Vision Research grants through its Center for Eye and Vision Research.
The grant awards, which reportedly total $157,140, reportedly funds projects aligned with the Eversight mission to restore sight and prevent blindness. To date, the grant program has awarded more than $3 million to stimulate new and pioneering research.
This year's recipients include:
- Dr. Patrice Fort at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center
- Dr. Ula V. Jurkunas at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School and Schepens Eye Research Institute
- Dr. Shahzad Mian at the University of Michigan Medical School
- Dr. Padmanabhan Paranji Pattabiraman at Case Western Reserve University
- Dr. Jessica M. Skeie at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
- Dr. K.P. Connie Tam at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
- Dr. Sarah Wood at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center
- Dr. Charles Yu at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary
- Dr. Cheng Zhang at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
