Eurobio Receives US, European Patents for I-Glide

Late last week, Eurobio announced it had received American and European patents for its I-Glide® device aimed towards handling and storage of corneal lamellar grafts.

Co-owned with the Venice Eye-Bank, I-Glide was reportedly developed for the preservation and transportation of corneal endothelium in an effort to make DSAEK easier and more flexible. The lamellar membrane is inserted into the I-Glide, which is filled with a proper storage medium and send to the operating room. The endothelium can also be preserved in the storage medium for up to a week.
