 NEI Adds Four New ECPs to National Advisory Eye Council

The National Eye Institute (NEI) recently announced it had appointed four new eye care professionals to the National Advisory Eye Council — its advisory body that provides advice to guide NEI research and training programs.

The new council members include:

  • Tom Glaser, M.D., Ph.D., professor, Department of Cell Biology and Human Anatomy, University of California, Davis School of Medicine
  • Louis Robert Pasquale, M.D., professor, Ophthalmology, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Eye and Ear
  • Dennis M. Levi, O.D., Ph.D., professor, Optometry and Vision Science, University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry
  • Sylvia B. Smith, Ph.D., regents’ professor and chair, Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University and Co-Director, James and Jean Culver Vision Discovery Institute
