 Scientists Identify ERED Gene

A team of researchers from the University of Liverpool have reportedly identified a specific gene responsible for epithelial recurrent erosion dystrophy (ERED).

According to the University, a Liverpool family with a 20-year history of ERED served as the impetus for discovery. Researchers were able to use genomics to look for physical and biochemical characteristics, ultimately leading to a genetic diagnosis of the disease before symptoms appear.
