 Rizzo Awarded USDOD Vision Prosthesis Pilot Study Award

Dr. Joseph F. Rizzo III was named one of three investigators to receive grant funding as part of the Vision Prosthesis Pilot Study — a congressionally-directed medical research program of the US Department of Defense (USDOD).

Dr. Rizzo — director of neuro-ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the David Glendenning Cogan Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School — plans to use the support to help his research team develop a test a visual prosthetic to restore vision to those with severe visual impairment.
