NIDEK CO., LTD., a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of ophthalmic, optometric, and lens edging equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of AngioScan OCT Angiography that enables visualization of retinal and choroidal microvasculature and blood flow with the RS-3000 Advance OCT.
OCT Angiography is a non-invasive technique that does not require injection of contrast dye for layer-by-layer examination of the retinochoroidal vasculature. OCT Angiography allows greater visualization of deep and small capillary plexus which is a significant advancement for clinical evaluation of retinal disease compared to conventional OCT or fluorescein angiography.
AngioScan features the tracing HD function which tracks eye movements to maintain the same scan location for accurate image acquisition. Tracing HD function can be enabled for exquisite high resolution image capture, or it can be turned off for faster image acquisition based on the clinical case. The scan size ranges from 3 mm to maximum of 9 mm and users can compose panorama images up to 12 mm x 9 mm.
The RS-3000 Advance models can be upgraded to AngioScan OCT by a simple software upgrade*. The functionality of RS-3000 Advance combined with this software allows evaluation of retina in greater detail helping with the diagnosis and enhancing patient care.
* PC replacement is required for existing RS-3000 Advance users in addition to software upgrade.
