May 14, 2013 -- SAN DIEGO -- More than 100 ophthalmologists are expected to attend the Optical Coherence Tomography & Imaging: Panel Experts Review (OCTIPER) to be held Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Ontario, Canada. The third annual OCTIPER meeting will take place prior to the annual meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and will bring together world-renowned ophthalmologists to address the growing need for a dedicated exchange of scientific and clinical information about optical coherence tomography (OCT).

"I'm honored to be sharing this experience with the faculty and surgeons who will be attending the program in Toronto. It promises to be an excellent experience for all of us. This opportunity to observe and discuss the most timely and relevant topics in OCT will continue to make this meeting the cornerstone of imaging," said OCTIPER course director Peter K. Kaiser, MD.

Surgeons will be able to discuss the current topics in tomography and imaging with a faculty of distinguished peers, including co-course directors Drs. Sunil Srivastava and Justis P. Ehlers and speakers including Drs. Jay Duker, Daniel Martin, SriniVas Sadda, Rishi Singh, Robert Sergott, Richard Spaide and Yuankai Tao.

Topics to be addressed at this year’s symposium include application of spectral-domain OCT in diagnosis of vitreoretinal diseases, the use of enhanced-depth imaging (EDI)-OCT in diagnosis and management of diseases, review of new and emerging technologies, identification of novel intraoperative and perioperative applications for OCT, and the roles of OCT in clinical research and clinical trial programs.

Program check-in will begin at 6:30 am followed by continental breakfast at 7:00 am. The program will be held 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Early registration fees are $125.00 for physicians, $110.00 for residents and fellows, and $100.00 for students and nonphysicians, if registered by May 31, 2013. Second-year retinal fellows are encouraged to apply for the “Fellow Scholarship Program,” which offers them the opportunity to attend this exciting educational program through an educational scholarship.

The meeting is jointly sponsored by Dannemiller and Meridius Health Communications. For additional information, including faculty bios and accreditation information, please visit http://www.octiper.com.
