ASCRS Media Alert

8 April 2013. Pasadena, CA -- Calhoun Vision, the manufacturer of the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL®), will hold media interviews during the upcoming meeting of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery in San Francisco.

Calhoun Vision’s Chief Executive Officer, D. Verne Sharma, and its FDA Phase III study medical monitor, Robert Maloney, MD, Los Angeles, CA, will be available for media interviews on Saturday, April 20, from 2:30 – 5:00 PM at the Calhoun Booth, #2344.

The Calhoun Vision LAL is a three-piece intraocular lens that contains photosensitive silicone material. The LAL allows surgeons to adjust and refine the refraction after implantation using the Calhoun Vision Light Delivery Device, an ultraviolet light system. Surgeons can customize the refractive correction to the specific visual needs of the patient before performing a final ‘lock-in’ procedure to set the correction. With the LAL, surgeons are now able to more predictably and accurately achieve the targeted postoperative refraction, and to customize the correction of presbyopia for each individual patient.
