Kowa Optimed to appear at 2012 American Academy of Ophthalmology Joint Meeting Exhibition

Kowa Optimed is sponsoring thought leaders in the field of Ophthalmology to speak at the Kowa Presentation Theater, Booth 3039 during the American Academy of Ophthalmology Joint Exhibition Meeting in Chicago from November 10th through the 13th.

Kowa has also invited the esteemed Dr. Michael Goldstein to speak on the medico-legal advantages of good image documentation. “It is important for today’s doctors to be informed on the incentives of good image documentation. Documentation improves the quality of care physicians render to their patients” says Dr. Goldstein. Incentives can include defense against malpractice suits, standardized documentation, and financial rewards to physicians who purchase and demonstrate meaningful use. Dr. Goldstein will elaborate on these advantages and more during his presentation.

Further, the acclaimed doctor Albert Khouri will speak on digital stereo imaging as the enduring standard. Dr. Khouri is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at New Jersey Medical School. He specializes in glaucoma with research interests in computer-assisted imaging technologies, telemedicine applications for the detection of vision-threatening diseases, laser treatment and ocular pharmacology.

Dr. Scott Grant will be at the Kowa Presentation Theater to expand on the importance of fluorescein angiography. Dr. Grant is a board-certified ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience providing patients with comprehensive care at his advanced private practice in Orange County, California. He has been associated with the UCI Medical School for over 25 years, most recently as an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
