Organization to Present on Success in Ophthalmology
BODEGA BAY, CA – July 10, 2012 – Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL) is pleased to announce its upcoming participation at the Women in Ophthalmology (WIO) Summer Symposium, to be held from August 9-12 at the scenic Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. The Symposium provides clinicians, researchers, and other ophthalmic professionals with scientific and practice management education, leadership programs, and networking events. Here, OWL will host a special session entitled “You CAN Get There from Here,” to be moderated by Jan Beiting, President of OWL.
“Our organization is extremely enthusiastic about returning to the Summer Symposium,” said Beiting. “Previous collaborations with Women in Ophthalmology have proven effective means for educating industry specialists, facilitating networking, and promoting the leadership role of women throughout ophthalmology.”

This year’s Symposium will also feature case studies, leadership sessions, speaker panels, multiple wet lab stations, and a specialized communications “boot camp.”
The OWL session will be broken into three sections: Developing Your Leadership Position; Demystifying the Path to the Podium; and Negotiating Your Next Step. Joining Jan Beiting as presenters will be OWL Board Members Heather Ready and Susan Benton.
