Endoilluminator

An endoilluminator is a surgical tool used to provide light for surgeons inside the body. Also known as a chandelier endoilluminator or chandelier probe, in vitreoretinal surgery this type of surgical lighting tool can help surgeons better see their operating field and improve visualization of challenges that may occur. Some endoilluminators can be placed into a cannula while others are inserted into the vitreous cavity, and there are also single and dual-fiber systems available.
