Ophthalmic and specialty microsurgical products manufacturer Beaver Visitec International, Inc. (BVI) recently launched its new Visitec® FLACS (femto laser assisted cataract surgery) Cannula.
The multi-functional cannula was designed to improve surgical efficiency and optimize clinical outcomes during FLACS by helping to ensure all types of femto incisions — side-port, main and arcuate — are opened smoothly, easily and cleanly. The cannula features a blunt leading edge to help safeguard against stretching or creating a second tunnel, and it is also very thin so it opens femto incisions with minimal effort.
Additionally, the cannula can be used to inject OVD and/or other solutions into the eye, helping to reduce the number of instrument passes between the surgeon and scrub nurse.
