Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG is pleased to announce that the Ziemer FEMTO LDV Z8 is now approved for use in Canada.

The FEMTO LDV Z8 is the first truly mobile femtosecond laser for refractive, cornea and cataract procedures.  This all-in-one system uses a unique technology of combined low energy with a high repetition rate to provide a precise capsulotomy and lens fragmentation. Its mobility and compact design provides an innovative and versatile workstation designed for seamless integration into any physician office or operating room.

David Bragg, President of Ziemer USA, stated “We are very excited to offer Canadian surgeons the ability to offer cataract surgery with the FEMTO LDV Z8.  The FEMTO LDV line of lasers are powerful models for treating a broad variety of customizable, corneal treatments and embrace a strategy that grows with the surgeon’s practice.  From LASIK surgery in the morning to cataract surgery in the afternoon, the surgeon can improve productivity and the economics of the practice with the advantages provided by the mobility of our systems.”
